EMMA C TABOR

Emma C Tabor is currently Artist in Residence at Ochre Print Studio in Guildford. The work combines studies of visual perception with explorations of growth and chance.  Growth is a continuing, crucial but uncertain process and the drawings reflect this as some offer gentle contemplation whilst others are more exuberant or may incorporate darker aspects of the psyche.  Each drawing starts as a seed and grows in its own way expanding and finding its own boundaries.  The results are interpreted and a new seed is planted and the next drawing grows and may take a new route or try to follow where others have been before in their own way and so the journey and passage of growth continues. 
 
Printing allows different aspects of the stories of these forms to be explored, like their interactions with other forms, prompting dialogues about their similarities and differences.  Whilst by experimenting with colour allows exaggeration or subduing of the visual distortions that the drawings display.  Each is another step in the contemplation of growth and development.  She uses monoprinting techniques combined with screen printing to achieve unique and rich images.
