GLYNIS PORTER ARE
Method of Working
My work incorporates both traditional print methods and experimental mixed media,
recently focusing on self-portraiture and identity, during my studies on the MA course.
I have aimed to create a sense of identity within images based on elements from
self-portraits, incorporating images of writings, drawings and personal ephemera,
producing both works on paper, and three-dimensional work on fabric forms and
cast paper.
Artist's Statement
I am currently working on a series of woodcuts, some of which are combined with
silkscreen or linocuts, based on my self-portraiture, but abstracting elements and
reworking them to create new imagery.
