Artist Statement

I am interested in exploring the poetic possibilities of combining image and text.
The text is usually a fragment of a dictionary definition and the image a linocut
of a natural form or object. I have also wanted to develop the physical presence
of the print, more as an object than a flat reproduction. This has resulted in making
my own paper as a support for the image and an integral part of the composition.

I have exhibited work recently at Bankside and Space galleries and also at Open
Studios in Brockley and Crouch End.

My work is held in a number of private and public collections including the Stedlijk
Museum and the V&A.
