NICOLA STYAN
Statement
My prints are varied in their media using traditional processes (including lithography,
screen printing and relief printing) incorporating conceptual ideas. My work promotes
ideas through abstract constructions that relate to our identity and the interaction of
our environment, and also how the fingerprint can identify us in various contexts.
I gained a BA in Fine Art (Printmaking) from Winchester School of Art and a MA in
Fine Art (Printmaking) from the University of Brighton. Additionally, I obtained a Post
Graduate in Education from the Institute of London, University of London.
I have taught and led printmaking in colleges along with textile design, painting and
drawing for ten years. Also, I recently mentored art tutors at the University of London
and was the Internal Moderator on the Access to Art and Design course at the Working
Men's College in Camden Town.
I have continuously exhibited my prints in London, including the Business Design Centre
and at the BBC. |
